The Department of Quantitative Methods was established under the name "Statistics and Quantitative Methods Department" with the establishment of the college in 1404 AH corresponding to 1984 AD, which was called "College of Administrative Sciences and Planning", with the aim of teaching statistical and mathematical subjects needed by some departments of the college, and the department was created under the name "Quantitative Methods Department" in The academic year 1429/1430 AH, and it was also approved by the College Council to present the department for a bachelor’s program in the field of risk and insurance, which aims to prepare cadres in the field of insurance of all kinds, as insurance is one of the important economic sectors.

 The department aims to introduce the student to the mathematical and statistical tools that he relies on in his studies of the courses offered by other departments, and also to enable him to analyze topics quantitatively and draw conclusions. The department also aims to acquaint the student with quantitative and applied aspects in areas related to the nature of college studies, such as banks, insurance authorities, financial and economic authorities, as well as developing the student's ability to practice quantitative methods in the different circumstances that the decision maker is going through in various areas of management. The department also seeks to activate smart partnerships with companies and relevant scientific departments to provide programs that meet the needs of the labor market.

 The design of the content of the courses taught by the department - whether in the risk and insurance program or other programs in the college - has taken into account modernity and development, and to provide the student with the knowledge, skills and experiences that qualify him to work after graduating in the private and public sectors.

 The department’s message stems from the university’s vision, mission and strategy aimed at serving the community in graduating qualified Saudi university youth who contribute to the development of how ministries and various government agencies and private sector companies and institutions use modern quantitative methods, and keep pace with scientific development as a result of the spread of the use of quantitative methods in all fields, especially in The field of administrative sciences, and to contribute in the near future, God willing, by offering graduate programs for graduates in the fields of risk, insurance and modern quantitative methods.

The insurance sector is one of the promising sectors that entered the Saudi market during the past few years, which necessitates the economic importance of this sector to advance it towards achieving more greater opportunities towards its role in enhancing its contributions to the Saudi economy and its hoped-for movement in accordance with the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, in addition to entering into Many new opportunities and initiatives provided by the ambitious vision programs and national transformation, so this program is suitable for the labor market because it works to provide cadres that meet the insurance companies' need for qualified specialists in the field of insurance and risk management due to the successive development and growth in the insurance market in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The program also aims to prepare and qualify students by developing their intellectual, scientific and research skills so that they are distinctly qualified to enter the labor market in the areas of risk and insurance, given the market’s need to contribute to the development of the local community through conducting scientific and field research on the problems facing the insurance sector locally and internationally.

Providing distinguished educational opportunities, and preparing technically qualified cadres with a strong quantitative background to assume high-level executive and administrative roles to support the insurance sector and risk management at the local and regional levels.

1-Preparing and qualifying cadres specialized in the fields of insurance and risk analysis, possessing skills commensurate with the needs of the Saudi insurance market.

2-Participation in the development and development of the insurance sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by providing it with highly qualified human cadres specialized in the fields of insurance and risk analysis in accordance with the vision of the Kingdom 2030.

3-Develop the knowledge, skills, and scientific and ethical values ​​of those enrolled in the program by balancing the theoretical foundations and applied methods in the areas of underwriting, pricing, marketing and investment in insurance companies.

4-Raising the level of knowledge, skills and values ​​in the technical aspects of analyzing and evaluating risks, estimating losses and calculating compensation, to help graduates obtain job opportunities and jobs in the insurance market, risk analysis, as well as financial markets, and pass a professional certificate in this field.

1-Fulfilling the admission requirements stipulated in the unified regulations for graduate studies in Saudi universities, and the organizational rules and procedures for graduate studies at King Faisal University.

2-The applicant must have a bachelor's degree in administrative and financial sciences or in any other discipline from a Saudi university or any other recognized university.

3-The student must submit two recommendations from supervisors in the workplace. As for those who do not have sufficient experience, the two recommendations can be submitted by university professors who have taught him before.

4- The applicant must have a score of 4 in the IELTS test or 50 in the TOEFL test (test validity is 4 years).

5- The applicant must pass the semester ending with a test in the Basics of Mathematics and Statistics course as a requirement to join the program. Those who submit evidence of passing this requirement during their university studies are exempted from this condition, with a grade of at least good.

6- The applicant must pass the personal interview for the program.

1-Finishing the number of compulsory academic hours required for the program from the Quantitative Methods Department or other departments.

2- Completion of the number of elective hours required for the program.

3-Finishing the number of academic hours allocated to the research project.

4-The student must complete the master's degree within four semesters, or a maximum of eight semesters.
